Vishay Introduces TRANSZORB® TVS in SMC (DO-214AB) Package

   Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announces the availability of a new family of surface mount TRANSZORB® bidirectional transient voltage suppressors (TVS) in SMC (DO-214AB) packages, the SMC3KxxxCAHM3_A, for automotive, industrial and communications applications. The SMC3KxxxCAHM3_A family of devices has surge performance up to 3 kW at 10/1000 μs, conforms to ISO 16750-2 Pulse b specification, 22 V to 120 V leakage current as low as 1 μA, and +175 C operating temperature.

      The recently released Vishay General Semiconductor TVS is AEC-Q101 qualified and provides a very stable breakdown voltage over the entire operating temperature range of -55 C to +175 C, reaching 11.1 V to 133 V, suitable for a variety of high reliability sexual application. The devices protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients caused by inductive load switching and lighting. Typical applications include automotive load dump protection, and signal line protection in industrial and communication systems.

      The SMC3KxxxCAHM3_A family has 33 TVS devices with reverse operating voltages from 10 V to 120 V. The device has very fast response speed and low incremental surge resistance, excellent clamping performance with a maximum clamping voltage of 17.0 V to 193 V at 10/1000 μs. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and meets J-STD-020 Moisture Sensitivity (MSL) Level 1 with a LF peak of 260 °C.

      Samples and production quantities of the new SMC3KxxxCAHM3_A family of devices are available now, with lead times of 12 weeks for bulk orders.
