Review Display Systems' new Kontron K384x series Micro-ATX motherboards from Kontron all feature Intel's latest high-performance 12th Gen Alder Lake chipset technology. Is a new series of industrial motherboards.the motherboard offers a mechanical form factor of 243.8mm (w) x 243.8mm (l) and supports an operating temperature range of 0C to +60C, allowing use in a wide range of application environments.

Micro-ATX K3481-Q, K3482-Q and K3843-B are designed for 24/7 operation in industrial environments, offering different levels of integration, price/performance, and support for multiple Intel processors including Core i9, i7 , i5, i3, and Pentium and Celeron processors.

To aid and assist with onboard power management and cooling requirements, the TDP of the CPU can be easily and simply lowered. Provides best-in-class system performance, common features on all three motherboards, including 4 memory slots supporting 128GBytes of the latest DDR5-4800 DIMMs, 4 DisplayPorts for 4 independent external displays, multiple M.2 SSD expansion capabilities , 4 PCI Express (Gen5) slots, 4 USB 3.2 (Gen1/Gen2), RS232 serial communication and an 8-bit GPIO.

It integrates a high-performance Intel Q670E chipset and provides the highest level of functionality and connectivity through three Ethernet ports (two 2.5Gbps and one 1Gbps) on the back I/O. Ethernet combination and Intel Time Coordinated Computing (TCC) are also supported.

The K3482-B and K3483-Q feature extensive connectivity and integrate onboard TPM 2.0 to support Windows 11. Implementing the Intel Q670 chipset, the K3482-Q supports a single 1Gbps Ethernet port. The K3483-B offers a more cost-effective and less populated version of the K3482-Q and features the Intel B660 business chipset.

Peter Marchant, RDS Embedded Division Manager, said: "Kontron was one of the first manufacturers to design, develop and produce new Micro-ATX boards using the latest 12th Gen Intel processors. The Kontron K348x series offers a high level of on-board integration, extensive scalability, and offers an effective cost of ownership, enabling it to be used in a wide range of industrial applications."
