The cost-effective SOIC-16 series is added to the DC-DC converter family

   RECOM has extended its FAMILY of DC-DC converters in soIC-16 packages into new versions to provide increased value. These units have a 5V (4.5-5.5V) input and a semi-regulated 5V output rated at 0.5W (R05C05TE05S) or 1W (R05CTE05S). Line and load adjustment rate data are specified over the entire temperature range and there is no minimum load requirement, making these units ideal for applications with light load operating modes.

   EMI levels are also relatively low compared to more expensive competing products. Because both components have 3kVDC/ 1min(basic) insulation rating, input/output leakage and gap greater than 8mm, operating temperature -40C to 125C, speed reduction. The isolation capacitance is only 7pF. Protection features include short circuit, over current, and over mild input undervoltage, making the unit ideal for applications requiring high reliability and robustness.

   The SOIC-16 package has a seating area of just 10.35mm x 7.5mm and a profile of 2.5mm, making it ideal for space-constrained designs. The two parts are pin compatible, allowing future upgrades from 0.5W to 1W if needed. The DC/DC is also compatible with higher-spec R05CT05S partial pins with remote on/off and enhanced isolation features.

   Applications in these two domains include isolated COM port power supplies, gate drive power supplies, current sensing/smart metering, medical devices, industrial PLC (I/O), and iot/INDUSTRIAL iot sensors.
