The Texas Instruments ADS7038 is an easy-to-use 8-channel multichannel 12-bit 1 MSPS Successive Approximation Register (SAR) ADC. The eight channels can be configured independently for analog input, digital input, or digital output. The device has an internal oscillator for the ADC conversion process.

The ADS7038 communicates through an SPI-compatible interface and operates in autonomous or single-transmission conversion mode. This ADC implements an analog watchdog function with per-channel event-triggered interrupts, using digital window comparators, hysteresis, and event counters with programmable high and low thresholds. The ADS7038 has a built-in cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for data read/write operations and power-on configuration
