Texas Instruments LM74610-Q1 smart diode controller. The controller can be used with N-channel MOSFETs in reverse polarity protection circuits. The device is designed to drive an external MOSFET in series with a power supply to mimic an ideal diode rectifier. The unique advantage of this scheme is that it is not ground-referenced and therefore has zero Iq. The LM74610-Q1 controller provides gate drive for external N-channel MOSFETs. It also provides a fast-response internal comparator to discharge the MOSFET gate if the polarity is reversed. If an opposite polarity is detected, this fast pull-down feature limits the amount and duration of reverse current. The company said that with the appropriate TVS diode, the device is designed to meet CISPR25 Category 5 EMI specifications and automotive ISO7637 transient requirements
