Texas Instruments TPD3S0x4 is an integrated protection device with a current-limiting load switch and a two-channel transient voltage suppressor (TVS) -based electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection diode array for USB interface. This device is suitable for applications such as the USB interface, which may encounter large capacitive loads and short circuits, thereby providing short circuit and overcurrent protection. TPD3S0x4 limits the output current to a safe level by operating at a constant current when the output load exceeds the current limit threshold. Fast overload response reduces the burden on the 5V mains supply by quickly adjusting the power supply when the output is shorted. Control the rise and fall times of the current limit switch to minimize current surges when turning the device on and off. TPD3S014 and TPD3S044 allow continuous currents of 0.5A and 1.5A, respectively. The TVS diode array is rated to eliminate ESD shocks, exceeding the maximum level specified by the IEC 61000-4-2 international standard. The high level of integration and its easy-to-wire DBV package enable the device to provide circuit protection for USB interfaces in applications such as laptops, high-definition digital televisions and set-top boxes.
