Date de Parution: 2016-01-05
Texas Instruments' TPS61088 is a high power density, fully integrated synchronous boost converter with 11mohm power switch and 13mohm rectifier switch, providing an efficient, small size solution for portable systems. The TPS61088 has a wide input voltage range of 2.7V to 12V to support single or two-cell lithium battery applications. The device has a 10A switching current capability and is capable of providing output voltages up to 12.6V. The TPS61088 uses an adaptive constant off-time peak current control topology to regulate the output voltage. Under moderate to heavy load conditions, the TPS61088 operates in pulse width modulation (PWM) mode. Under light load conditions, the device has two modes of operation selected via the MODE pin. One is pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode to improve efficiency, and the other is forced PWM mode to avoid application problems caused by low switching frequency. The switching frequency in PWM mode can be adjusted from 200kHz to 2.2MHz by an external resistor. The TPS61088 also implements a programmable soft-start function and an adjustable switching peak current limit function. In addition, the device provides 13.2V output overvoltage protection, cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown protection.
