The TPS3779 and TPS3780 are members of a new family of compact low-voltage, high-precision two-channel voltage detectors from Texas Instruments. The device's SENSE1 and SENSE2 inputs have hysteresis to suppress transient glitches and ensure stable output operation without causing false triggering. This series offers different hysteresis options at different factory settings of 0.5%, 1%, 5% or 10%.
The TPS3779 and TPS3780 have adjustable SENSE inputs and can be configured via an external resistor divider. When the voltage at the SENSE1 or SENSE2 input drops below the falling threshold, OUT1 or OUT2 are driven low, respectively. When SENSE1 or SENSE2 rises above the rising threshold, OUT1 or OUT2 goes high, respectively.
These devices have very low quiescent current of only 2 µA (typical), which provides an accurate, space-saving solution for voltage detection, suitable for low-power system monitoring and portable applications. The TPS3779 and TPS3780 operate from 1.5V to 6.5V over a temperature range of -40C to 125C.
