TDK Launches Compact Shielded Transformer for Ultrasonic Applications

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2022-10-30, TDK Corporation

TDK introduced the new EPCOS B78302A * series micro transformer, which is very suitable for ultrasonic applications. The new series of transformers are designed with E5 magnetic core and SMD (surface mount), and three models are available. The turn ratio range is 1:1:10.8 to 1:1:15.3, and the inductance range is 2 mH to 4 mH.

The turn ratio and inductance can be adjusted according to the customer's customized requirements. The design operating frequency range is 50 kHz to 300 kHz, and the operating temperature is - 40 °~125 °. The new transformer has passed the AEC-Q200 reliability verification and is compact in size (8.1 x 7.0 x 7.0 mm). Shielded windings can better suppress interference.

Transformers are mainly used in ultrasonic applications to achieve the best impedance matching between driver IC and ultrasonic transmitter or receiver. Typical applications include parking aids, industrial robots, unmanned aerial vehicles and logistics robots, automatic guided vehicles (AGV) and liquid level measurement systems.
