The MIC2042 and MIC2043 are high-side MOSFET switches optimized for general-purpose distribution applications requiring circuit protection. The device can be switched to 5.5V and 0.8V while providing programmable current limiting and hot shutdown to protect equipment and load. Provide fault status output to detect overcurrent and hot shutdown fault conditions.

Typical Application

   

Both devices use soft-start circuits to minimize inrush in applications that employ high volume loads. In addition, for tighter control of the inrush current during startup, the output turn rate can be adjusted by an external capacitor.

Test Circuit

             

The MIC2043 features an automatic reset circuit breaker mode that latches output when an overcurrent condition lasting more than 28 milliseconds is detected. Reset the output by removing or reducing the load.
