Silicon Power Launches New Digital Temperature Sensor

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2022-08-26, Silicon Labs

Changes in temperature affect the environment, household products, industrial equipment, automobiles, servers and many other industries. More and more smart products are closely related to temperature, and put forward extremely high requirements for monitoring and control of temperature parameters. The digital temperature sensor has the advantages of miniaturization, low power consumption, high performance, strong anti-interference ability, easy to configure with microprocessor, etc. It can directly convert temperature into digital signal processor for processing, and is widely used in medical electronics, mobile communication, office automation , automotive electronics, intelligent buildings and other fields.

Silicon Power's low-power digital temperature sensor SQ52910 supports -40°C ~ +125°C operating temperature range, excellent performance, and small size make it ideal for use in a variety of communications, computer, consumer, environmental, industrial and instrumentation Extended temperature measurement in applications. The SQ52910 is ideal as a high-accuracy NTC/PTC thermistor replacement without the need for calibration or external component signal conditioning, with a measurement accuracy of ±0.5°C. Moreover, the temperature sensing of the device is a highly linearized product, and the temperature can be known without complex calculation or table look-up. An on-chip 12-bit ADC provides resolution down to 0.0625°C.

The SQ52910 is compatible with SMBus and I2C interfaces, and has an address pin, which can cooperate with SDA and SCL to generate 4 different addresses, allowing up to 4 SQ52910 sensors to be connected to the same SMBus bus, and has an SMBus alarm function. And it can work in the supply voltage range of 1.62~3.6V, and the maximum quiescent current is 10µA in the whole operating range. The SQ52910 adopts the ultra-small SOT563 package with a package size of only 1.6×1.6mm. Compared with the commonly used SOT-23 package, the power density is increased by 68%.
