Silicon Labs announced its latest Wireless Gecko SoC series. The new SoC has high energy efficiency and provides excellent battery life for various IoT applications.

Silicon Labs EFR32BG22 (BG22) SoC is a single-chip solution that supports Bluetooth 5.2 connection, including Bluetooth Mesh, Bluetooth Low Energy and sub-meter precision direction finding. These multifunctional SoCs can extend the life of button batteries to ten years, providing energy-saving options for commercial, consumer and industrial IoT applications. The SoC is based on the high-performance Arm Cortex-M33 core and provides ultra-low transmit and receive power.

EFR32MG22 (MG22) series of devices provide the smallest and lowest power SoC optimized for Zigbee Green Power applications. These SoCs couple the 76.8MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core with a high-performance 2.4GHz radio to support multiple IoT protocols. For Zigbee devices powered by button batteries or energy harvesting sources, which combine smart home sensors, lighting control, and building and industrial automation, energy-saving SoCs are an excellent choice.

The EFR32FG22 (FG22) SoC allows the use of energy-friendly proprietary protocol networks in IoT devices with limited power and size. The single-chip device provides a 38.4MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor and a 2.4GHz radio with a receiving sensitivity of -106.4dBm. These SoCs have advanced security features and a complete set of software tools and stacks, making them an excellent choice for applications such as building security, industrial automation sensors, electronic shelf labels, and commercial lighting custom modules.
