    With WE-BMS, Würth Elektronik supplies signal transformers for battery management systems, which are excellent for use in energy storage systems, e-bikes or e-scooters due to the galvanically isolated 4300VDC/1min and high operating voltages up to 1000VDC. In addition to the transformer, the new series element includes at least one common mode choke to filter out common mode interference. The company's design provides longer physical creep than equivalent products on the market, but is very compact. A variant with a low profile assembly of 3.45mm height is also available.

     Transformers are definitely the best choice for battery management systems, as the product code WE-BMS indicates. The assembly is designed for extended operating temperature range -40°C and 125°C and is available in different sizes from 7.6mm x 9.5mm x 5.5mm to 15.1mm x 15.4mm x 3.45mm.

     They are primarily used to provide reliable operating and state-of-charge supply information. The individual cells of the battery pack are connected in series, as are the downstream BMS controllers. Voltage differences and electromagnetic interference may occur between components or boards in series. Transformers help isolate components and suppress electromagnetic interference. Applications include storage systems for solar installations or UPS. Since this series is AEC-Q200 qualified, it is also ideal for electric vehicle applications. Serial daisy chain, isoSPI and SPI are supported.
