Sensirion Introduces Temperature Sensors for Automotive Applications

     Sensirion announces the STS4xA family of digital temperature sensors designed for automotive applications with high reliability. The sensor platform supports automatic optical inspection and is equipped with an advanced on-board diagnostic system.

   Stäfa, Switzerland – Sensirion has added a new member to Sensirion’s extensive family of temperature sensors – the automotive-grade digital sensor STS4xA, which currently includes two models: STS41A-AD1B and STS41A-AW1B, the latter in an optional wettable flank package that supports automation Optical detection. In addition, the on-chip integrated heater enables advanced On-Board Diagnostics (OBD), enabling functional and plausibility diagnostics rather than just simple status checks.

     Based on Sensirion CMOSens technology and extensive experience in temperature sensing, the sensor has a proven engineering expertise. Not only is the STS4xA cost-effective, it also features an I²C interface and a wide supply voltage range. Due to its small size and square dual-planar leadless (DFN) package, the STS4xA can be easily integrated into a variety of automotive applications. In addition, it complies with relevant industry standards such as "Dual 85" (85°C/85%RH) accelerated life testing.
