STMPE801 is a GPIO(Universal Input/output) port extender capable of a major digital ASIC via a two-wire bidirectional bus (I2C) interface; Stand-alone GPIO expander ics are often used on mobile multimedia platforms to address the limited number of GPios available on digital engines.
Pin connection
The STMPE801 provides great flexibility because each I/ o can be configured for input and output. The device is designed with very low static current and includes wake up functionality for each I/O to optimize the power consumption of the IC.
