Richtek's RTQ6056 is a high-precision current monitor with I²C and SMBus interface. The device provides complete information to the system by reading out the load current and power. The device monitors dips via sensing resistance and bus voltage, converts current to amperes and power to watts via an internal analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Programmable calibration, adjustable switching times, and averaging features are also built in for more design flexibility.
The RTQ6056 provides a wide temperature environment ranging from -40°C to +125°C with an input voltage ranging from 2.7V to 5.5V. The device senses currents across common-mode bus voltages from 0 V to 36 V. RTQ6056 provides alarm function, open leakage output and full protection, warning the host in the case of overcurrent, overvoltage and overpower. It is a small MSOP-10 package.
