ROHM (headquartered in Kyoto, Japan), a world-renowned semiconductor manufacturer, has developed low-VF and high-speed trr characteristics*1 and ultra-low noise characteristics for industrial equipment and consumer electronic equipment that require high power such as air conditioners and electric vehicle charging piles. The 4th generation fast recovery diode (hereinafter referred to as "FRD") 650V withstand voltage "RFL/RFS series".
In recent years, with the increase in global power consumption, how to effectively utilize power has become an urgent problem to be solved. Among them, industrial equipment such as high-power white goods and electric vehicle charging piles not only need to improve the efficiency of the power circuit, but also need to reduce the burden of noise reduction design. Against this background, ROHM's new products have achieved both a low VF characteristic for more efficient operation, a high-speed trr characteristic that reduces the loss when the switch is turned off, and an ultra-high-speed switch when the switch is turned off. Low noise characteristics.
By optimizing the device structure and materials, the new product improves both VF and trr performance, which are both important characteristics of FRD and have a trade-off relationship. Compared with the conventional products, the low-VF type RFL series has a VF reduction of about 3.2% and a trr reduction of about 8.3%. Compared with the conventional product (RFUH series), the high-speed trr type RFS series has a VF reduction of about 17.9%. With the product lineup of these two series, it is possible to realize an optimized design that meets the needs of the power supply circuit application, thereby helping to improve the efficiency of the power supply. In addition, the noise when the switch is turned off is very low compared to conventional products, helping to reduce the number of noise suppression parts and ease the design burden.
In the future, ROHM will continue to expand the application field by continuing to expand the package lineup of the RFL series and RFS series and launch products that support automotive applications, and contribute to further reducing the power consumption of applied products.
