With new features in PVRTune 2018 Release 1, developers can
analyze the performance of their applications running on PowerVR GPUs in real time
and use fine-grained performance information to identify
bottlenecks.
In this release, PVRTune is now "API-aware", capable of retrieving and
rendering
events generated by client drivers of native programming interfaces such as OpenGL ES and EGL.
In addition, UI enhancements make navigation more intuitive than ever, and also improve the clarity of data representation.
With PVRTune, developers can
view application-level API calls (such as glDraw) in the PVRTune GUI, and
track application-level work through the PowerVR driver, and then
execute it on the hardware .
In this way, they can see
how work submitted at the application level directly affects
the behavior and performance of drivers and hardware.
PVRTune can also provide other information from the client driver, such as surface format, size, and shader details.
Today, PVRTune supports OpenGL ES / EGL client drivers, and Vulkan® support will follow.
