Panasonic Industrial Europe has introduced a highly integrated dual-mode integrated Bluetooth 4.2 RF module that enables high-speed operation with extremely low power consumption. PAN1026A is based on Toshiba's single-chip TC35661 Bluetooth SIG stack. Integrated SPP (classic serial Bluetooth port profile) and GATT stack (common Bluetooth LE property profile).
This module provides all clocks, EEPROM and embedded antennas, which can significantly reduce the number of external components and power consumption in applications that must support the Bluetooth 4.2 standard. The built-in EEPROM has a Panasonic MAC address and can be used to store the link key. Because the device is fully compatible with its previous products and uses the same software development kit, the PAN1026 product can be easily upgraded.
"Our new PAN1026A module provides traditional Bluetooth and traditional Bluetooth low energy connectivity, enabling fast connections and small interruptions in a variety of applications," comments Pascal Meier, Panasonic Product Manager.
