Murata
Designed specifically for automotive applications, Murata introduced the GCB series of monolithic ceramic capacitors (MLCC).
The use of electronic components continues to increase in automobiles, especially in engine compartments, powertrains and safety devices. They are usually exposed to harsh environments and must not only be highly reliable, but also capable of operating at high temperatures.
To meet this requirement, Murata has developed a GCB series MLCC with a maximum operating temperature of 200 ° C. In addition, they can be bonded and mounted using conductive adhesives commonly used to meet automotive environmental requirements.
The GCB series has a capacitance range of 1,000pF to 0.47uF in 0402 and 0603 sizes. Their operating temperature range is -55C to + 150C (X8R), -55C to + 200C (X9M), and the operating voltage is 10 to 100VDC.
These capacitors have newly developed electrodes made of nickel (Ni) and palladium (Pd). They can produce high adhesion reliability with conductive adhesives even when used in high temperature environments. In addition, compared with previous and existing products, the terminal electrodes of capacitors have excellent corrosion resistance. The company said that the GCB series meets the AEC-Q200 stress test qualification for passive components.
