         Microchip Technology's MIC28515 is an adjustable frequency synchronous buck regulator with a unique adaptive on-time control architecture. The MIC28515 operates from an input supply range of 4.5 V to 75 V and provides a regulated output up to 5 A. The output voltage is adjustable to 0.6 V with an accuracy of ±1%. The MIC28515 provides a "mode" select pin that allows the user to select between ultra-light load and over-speed control operation. A proprietary architecture for ultra-high-speed control allows an ultra-fast transient response while reducing output capacitance.

     It also provides a complete set of protection features to ensure the safe operation of the equipment under fault conditions. These include UVLO, external soft-start to reduce current inrush, hiccup current limit short circuit protection and thermal shutdown. The MCP28515 features a 38-pin 6 mm x 6 mm PQFN with a junction operating range of -40°C to +125°C, making it ideal for distributed power systems, solar, network infrastructure, and industrial power applications.
