The MIC2954 is an efficient regulator with very low step-down (typically 40 mV at light loads and 375 mV at 250 mA) and low static current (typically 120µA). The MIC2954 has only a slight increase in static current, which extends battery life.

Key features of the MIC2954 include battery reverse protection, folding current limits and automotive load dump protection (60V positive transient). The MIC2954-07/08YM is an adjustable version that includes an error flag output that warns of low output voltage, which is usually due to a faulty battery on the input. This can also be used as a power-on reset. A logic-compatible off input is provided to enable the regulator to switch on and off.

This section can be pin banded for 5V output or programmed from 1.24V to 29V using two external resistors. The MIC2954 has two voltage tolerances, maximum ±0.5% and maximum ±1%. Both guarantee junction temperatures from -40°C to +125°C.
