Date de Parution: 2015-09-23, Microchip Technology
The latest news from Microchip is the expansion of its human machine interface solution portfolio with MTCH6303, an innovative, all-inclusive projected capacitive touch screen and touch screen controller. Supports touch sensors with up to 1000 nodes and 10-inch diagonals. MTCH6303 provides multi-touch coordinates and off-the-shelf multi-finger surface gesture kits, which bring modern user interface (UI) elements (such as pinch and zoom, multi-finger scrolling and sliding) to any embedded design with minimal host requirements. MTCH6303's advanced signal processing function provides 10-finger noise avoidance technology and predictive tracking, with a scan rate of up to 250Hz and five touches of 100Hz. It is also combined with Microchip's MTCH652 high-voltage line driver to achieve excellent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for excellent touch performance in noisy environments. When combined with MGC3130, the MTCH6303 solution can support 3D aerial gestures up to 20cm from the touchpad. Microchip's MGC3130 electric field-based 3D tracking and gesture controller includes Microchip's patented GestIC technology, which allows users to perform user input through natural hand and finger movements in free space. This unique combination enables designers to create interface control possibilities in two and three dimensions to differentiate their products from competitors. MTCH6303's advanced features provide robust, ready-to-use touch and gesture solutions for the rapid growth of human-machine interface applications and demand. These applications include: machine control panels, HVAC control, metering and test equipment, and other industrial equipment; in home automation products Including security control panels, thermostats and lighting controls; and office equipment such as printers, copiers and fax machines; among other applications. Microchip's new multi-touch projected capacitive touch screen development kit (DV102013) supports MTCH6303 with free downloadable software. DV102013 integrates MTCH6303 projected capacitive touch controller and MTCH652 high-voltage driver on the controller board, and includes a transparent 8-inch ITO touch panel, which can easily demonstrate the touch controller functions of MTCH6303 and support graphical user interface (GUI) functions. Microchip's free MTCH6303 GUI provides designers with full access to configuration and tuning parameters. Advanced visualization windows help all user levels with easy-to-understand feedback to accelerate design integration and speed time to market. In addition, Microchip provides access to firmware libraries for further customization for maximum design flexibility and control. The new MTCH6303 is available in 64-pin QFN and TQFP packages. MTCH652 is available in 28-pin QFN, SOIC and SSOP packages. The MGC3130 is available in a 28-pin QFN package. The company said that all three devices are available today for sampling and mass production.
