MEMSIC released the first 6-axis IMU with sensitive sensing and strong experience to support somatosensory interaction system

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2022-08-23, Memsic Inc.

MEMSIC, the world's leading supplier of inertial MEMS sensors, released the first MEMS six-axis inertial sensor (IMU) MIC6100HG, which integrates a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer to support somatosensory interactive systems such as gamepads and smart remote controls , the sensor is sensitive, which greatly enhances the user experience. At the same time, MEMSIC has a strong algorithm team that can provide users with algorithm support to meet the needs of rich application scenarios.

Somatosensory interactive systems such as gamepads and smart remote controls have the characteristics of large motion range and prone to collision and falling. MEMSIC adopts a highly reliable three-mass MEMS architecture to provide users with a smooth somatosensory experience.MEMSIC's six-axis IMU chip MIC6100HG has a large FIFO, supports I2C/I3C/SPI communication methods, and is packaged in LGA.

Lu Heng, CEO of MEMSIC, said: "The new features of the MIC6100HG bring a better experience for consumer electronics customers in product applications, and have a strong competitive advantage, providing a good foundation for MEMSIC to further promote IMU sensor products on a large scale. At present, MEMSIC's capacitive acceleration products are comparable to first-tier international brands, and its good reputation and mass production experience have laid a solid foundation for the large-scale mass production of six-axis products."

MEMSIC's six-axis IMU chip MIC6100HG has already sent samples to customers and has been recognized by customers. It is expected to be mass-produced and shipped before the end of this year. Based on the success of the first generation of six-axis products, MEMSIC will continue to innovate and iterate with its experienced R&D team in the next two years, launching high-precision six-axis IMUs that support OIS applications, and low-drift series six-axis inertial navigation oriented products, and is committed to continuing to make efforts in the high-end field of six-axis products to achieve localized substitution.
