The LTC4311 is a dual I2C active pull-up designed to improve data transfer speed and reliability with bus load conditions well beyond the 400pF I2C specification limits. The LTC4311 operates at a supply voltage of 1.6V to 5.5V and is also SMBus-compatible.

Typical application

         

The LTC4311 allows multiple devices to be connected or longer, more capacitive interconnections without affecting the transfer rate or bus performance by limiting pull-up current using two transfers. During positive bus conversion, the LTC4311 provides convert limited pull-up current to quickly convert I2C or SMBus lines to bus-pull-up voltage. During negative transitions or steady DC levels, the current is disabled to increase the negative swing rate and increase the high and low state noise margin.

If the SCL and SDA are high, automatically detecting standby mode will reduce the supply current. When disabled, LTC4311 enters low (< 5μA) current off. The LTC4311 is available in 2mm x 2mm x 0.75mm DFN and SC70 packages
