Littelfuse has introduced the SP1026 series of 15pF 30kV bidirectional discrete TVS diode arrays specifically designed to protect sensitive electronic devices from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage. Zener diodes manufactured using proprietary silicon avalanche technology protect each I / O pin, providing a high level of ESD protection. These rugged, general-purpose diodes can safely absorb repetitive ESD strikes of ± 30kV (contact discharge, IEC 61000-4-2) without degrading performance. In addition, each diode can safely dissipate a 5A 8 / 20μs surge current (IEC61000-4-5) with a very low clamping voltage. Applications in this series include protecting mobile phones, smart phones, smart watches, tablets, portable navigation devices and portable medical devices. "The SP1026 series helps complete our general ESD protection device portfolio," said Tim Micun, product manager for TVS diode arrays (SPA Diodes). "Design engineers can be confident that they will find a device that provides a cost-effective solution, and that their space-efficient design fits perfectly into an increasingly crowded PCB layout."
