In order to strengthen OTA measurement of 5G mobile terminals and provide a new unified test solution, Anritsu Corporation announced to strengthen cooperation with Bluetooth AB
Both companies have long used bluetooth RTS65 OTA reverberation test systems for LTE/5G FR1 (sub-6ghz band) and FR2 (mmWave) CATR OTA measurements, but this enhanced partnership provides a further advantage, Enable new LTE and 5G (FR1, FR2) OTA measurements by supporting the new MT8000A Single Instrument NSA solution with Amritsu's 5G mobile terminal MT8000A RF measurement and test platform.
Unifying smaller systems saves valuable lab space. Also, in general, a single call requires the box MT8821C for LTE OTA measurements, but this solution assists LTE, 5G FR1 and 5G FR2 measurements by utilizing only one OTA chamber and one instrument, specially made for the MT8000A, resulting in lower costs for 5G LTE / Terminal developer and operator specific cat in LTE/5G OTA test environment.
The MT8000A is an all-in-one 5G test platform that provides RF parameter and protocol testing, functional and application testing, beam characteristics verification, and more. It supports NSA and SA mode base station emulation capabilities for creating FR1 and FR2 capable LTE/5G chipsets and devices. It is widely used for conducting and OTA testing to evaluate the performance of LTE/5G devices. The solution consists of MT8000A and MT8821C (now optional) and Bluetooth RTS65.
The RTS65 OTA reverberation test system optimizes the time required for OTA measurements to improve r&d productivity. It supports 5G MIMO measurements on FR1 and FR2, including 28GHz and 39GHz mmWave bands. Its unique design, with RIMP and CATR environments, enables multi-carrier MIMO measurements and directional measurements on FR2. In addition, a built-in measurement computer with an easy-to-use touch screen interface assists in simplifying the control and monitoring of measurement results. The MT8000A and RTS65 feature an efficient development environment with RF TRx testing, analog base station and measurement results monitoring, facilitating low-cost OTA measurements for LTE and 5G FR1/FR2 phones.
