KTM5030 of Kinetic Energy Technology Company is an advanced DisplayPort 1.4a MST hub with integrated USB Type-C demultiplexer, mainly for mobile notebook accessories and display applications. The function of the device is a multi stream audio/video distributor and protocol converter, with HDCP1.x/HDCP2.3 repeater, supporting compressed display stream compression (DSC) and uncompressed AV stream.

The KTM5030 has a USB Type-C uplink port facing (UFP) in DP alternative mode. The four high-speed channels of UFP can simultaneously receive DP1.4a MST audio/video and USB3.2 Gen2 data streams. The input channel mapping is flexible and can meet the flipping direction requirements of standard DP or USB Type-C connectors. The incoming DP and USB signals are multiplexed, re timed, and transmitted on the downstream DFP. The KTM5030 consists of three AC coupled DP/d++or DC coupled HDMI/DVI dfps. Each dfp has four high-speed channels and one USB port, with USB3.2 TX and RX pairs. The stream routing logic in the KTM5030 allows you to flexibly convert the incoming DP MST stream to any combination of MST or SST streams on any DFP video port, and has the option to change the link rate and channel number. SST streams can also be replicated on two or more DFP ports. In addition, DP SST streams can be converted to HDMI or DVI outputs (TMDS signal format).

The combo receiver in the KTM5030 supports all DP standard data rates up to HBR3 (8.1 Gbps/lane) and USB3.2 Gen1 (5 Gbps) and Gen2 (10 Gbps). Dual mode (ddp++) transmitter supports DP standard data rate up to 8.1 Gbps/lane and TMDS data rate up to 6 Gbps/lane. The side band channel uses 1mbps Manchester coded AUX signaling for DP, and DDC signaling up to 100kbps for HDMI
