Molex is expanding its production of commercial 400G ZR QSFP-DD pluggable coherent optical transceivers to support the growing demand for advanced DCI solutions. The 400G ZR and 400G ZR+ products are an integral part of its expanding portfolio of optical transceivers designed to provide optimized data transfer rates with low power consumption in small form factors.
Joseph Chon, Director of Coherent Technology and Product line Management at Molex Optoelectronics said""Molex is meeting the need for faster transmission speeds between and within next-generation data centers," "By accelerating commercialization and production of the 400G ZR product line, we can better position large cloud data center operators for a variety of high-density, bandwidth-intensive applications."
The 400G OpenZR+, expected to be available in the second quarter, will extend its range from 120 km to around 600 km, enabling a 12.8T 1RU switch or router chassis with lower power consumption. The device is designed according to OIF 400G ZR standard and is one of the first standard-based pluggable coherent optical modules.
The company's compact, cost-effective transceiver modules and 75GHz OLS increase the bandwidth capacity of optical fibers in DCI applications and significantly reduce the cost per bit. Moreover, an experimental validation of 400Gb/s data transmission over DCI ZR distance was completed in a 75GHz interval DWDM link amplified in OLS.
