The new hard drive expands the T5E series SSD with 3D TLC flash and pSLC support, providing up to 8TB (M.2 to 4TB) Gen3x4 performance.
explains Mike Guzzo, Senior director of SMART Modular RUGGED Flash Product Line:"With the trend towards NVMe development in embedded systems, the development of T5EN was a natural progression to complement our existing product line," Guzzo added: "Fundamentally, the T5EN contains all the existing advantages of the T5E, such as very high capacity, superior reliability in harsh extreme environments, military erasing algorithm support, and 256-bit encryption. These advantages equate to a higher level of protection for mission-critical data and inject confidence in the overall reliability of data storage devices that support high-performance NVMe architectures."
M.2 module and U.2 are driven in THREE - dimensional three - level battery NAND and pseudo single - level battery. Both versions are compatible with OPAL 2.0, another level of self-encryption that ensures unauthorized personnel cannot access data on SSDS. Both versions use AES-XTS 256-bit encryption to automatically protect data written to the drive.
Making durable and robust SSDS starts with design. The company selectively procures all its components and tests them during the engineering development phase to ensure high reliability and performance. The design process also includes higher signal routing margins, thicker PCBS and durable housing.
