Date de Parution: 2022-10-22, Littelfuse Inc.

Littelfuse, Inc released a new 5.0SMDJxxS-HRA TVS diode series. The development, manufacture and screening of high reliability TVS diodes provide powerful overvoltage protection with low early failures and zero degradation in continuous surge events.

Today's aircraft use more and new composite materials, so a higher level of lightning protection for electrical and electronic equipment is required. This series is a highly reliable TV diode series produced for aircraft subsystems, which shields the impact of voltage transients caused by lightning and other transient voltage events on sensitive electronic equipment. The company used strict screening process of electronic components to manufacture these highly reliable TV diodes, which enhanced robustness. They are packaged with 5000W surface mounted DO-214AB, with a power density of up to 5kW.

This series is very suitable for applications requiring high reliability in harsh environments, including aerospace, avionics and aircraft subsystems (such as cockpit display, combat control, radar, etc.), aircraft power systems, AC or DC power line protection, low-frequency data lines, industrial automation and harsh environment applications.

Charlie Cai, senior product marketing manager of Littelfuse, said: "The 5.0SMDJxxS-HRA TVS diode series has increased the rated power (up to 5kW), while providing higher electronic protection performance and greater design flexibility in the same compact surface mount package (the same as the previous solution)." "These on-screen TV diodes help avionics designers meet demanding high-level regulatory requirements without increasing the size of printed circuit boards."
