The MP2560 is a high frequency step-down switching regulator with a built-in high side high voltage power MOSFET. It provides 2.5A output current mode control for fast loop response and easy compensation. The wide 4.5V to 42V input range is suitable for a variety of step-down applications, including those in automotive input environments.
The 12 μA off mode static current can be used for battery powered applications. High power conversion efficiency over a wide load range is achieved by reducing switching frequency under light load conditions to reduce switch and gate drive losses. Frequency folding helps prevent inductive current runaway during startup and hot shutdown providing reliable, fault-tolerant operation.
By switching at 4MHz, the MP2560 is able to prevent EMI(electromagnetic interference) noise problems such as those found in AM radio and ADSL applications. The MP2560 is available in a 3mm x 3mm QFN10 and heat-enhanced SOIC8 package.
