High efficiency air cooled AC/DC power supply for distributed power systems

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2022-04-13, TDK InvenSense

TDK Corporation has introduced the TDK-Lambda TPF45000-385 three-phase input, non-isolated 45kW AC/DC power supply. Efficiency is 98%, less internal waste heat is generated and can be cooled by an internal variable speed fan. This method of cooling bypasses the need for expensive and complex water cooling systems. The device provides a stable 385VDC output for large distributed power systems using isolated DC-DC converters for semiconductor testing and aging, large printers, and other industrial equipment.

The unit can be input from Delta or Wye 360-528VAC three-phase and operate at full load at ambient temperatures from -10C to +50C (-20C starting). Internally, the power supply includes up to ten 4.5kW modules, allowing for a lower power system configuration. The rack housing is 450mm wide (excluding side rack mounting flanges), 113mm high (less than 3U), 533mm deep, and weighs 30kg.

Isolation signals are provided for remote monitoring, dc good, phaseout and fault alarms, as well as remote on/off capability and 13 to 15V 0.5A auxiliary output. In addition, PMBus and USB communication interfaces are provided for monitoring input voltage, output voltage, output current, internal temperature, status signals and fan status, or to prohibit or allow output voltage.

The equipment is certified by IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 and complies with the CE and UKCA marks of Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS directives. It also conforms to EN55032-A(conductive and radiative radiation), SEMI F47-0706(line difference) and IEC 61000-4(anti-interference). Ground isolation input is 2000VAC.
