Date de Parution: 2022-10-27, Bosch Sensortec

Bosch Sensortec will launch the BMI323, an affordable IMU with outstanding performance and integration features that will shorten development time. Like its predecessor, the BMI160, the new device is a versatile, low-power IMU that combines accurate acceleration and angular velocity (gyroscope) measurements with smart integrated elements triggered by motion.

Its integrated features make OEM development faster and easier. BMI323, for example, already includes the company's plug and play step counter software, so customers don't have to spend time creating their own algorithms. Other features include motion detection and the ability to turn subsystems on and off when putting down or picking up a device such as a TV remote, reducing overall power consumption.

The six-axis device has a self-calibrating 16-bit triaxial gyroscope, a 16-bit triaxial accelerometer, and a 16-bit digital temperature sensor mounted in a miniature 2.5mm x 3mm x 0.83mm3 (14-pin) LGA package that is compatible with the BMI160 and others. This is the first IMU device announced by the company to integrate the new I3C interface as well as the I2C and SPI interfaces.

"The simplicity and excellent value for money of the BMI323 will open up new applications for IMU," said Dr. Stefan Finkbeiner, CEO of Bosch Sensortec. . "These will include standard consumer products such as toys, game controllers, remote controls, wearables, fitness trackers, smartwatches, as well as tablets and laptops."
