KDPOF designed and validated the first 1000BASE-RH SFP module for optical Gigabit connectivity in vehicles. The module can run at 100 and 1000 mb/s. It contains header connectors for the entire 1000BASE-RHC PHY and SI-POF optical harnesses. The design of this new small size pluggable transceiver module is based on a standard SFP and supports MSA registers via the I2C bus.

Suds Rajagopal, co-founder and VP of Aukua Systems, a leading provider of precision Ethernet and IP test and monitoring solutions, welcomed KDPOF's new SFP: "As a supplier of automotive Ethernet test tools, we have been looking forward to this module .We are excited to integrate the 1000BASE-RH optical interface into our test equipment for evaluating KDPOF optical network designs.”

The new SFP supports 1000BASE-X, 100BASE-X, and SGMII (which may or may not auto-negotiate) electrical interfaces. It monitors received optical power, junction temperature, link margin and supply voltage, etc.

“Our new SFP module has been tested and validated in a recent functional demonstration,” said Carlos Pardo, CEO and co-founder of KDPOF. “We are proud to have completed the first of a future commercial 1000BASE-RH SFP module Milestone, it will be integrated into the optical ecosystem of the car.
