   Impulse Embedded now offers the Ilo -8 AI accelerator for RSC100, ARM-based Edge Embedded PCS. The Edge system, together with hailO-8, is suitable for a wide range of uses, including public safety, smart factories, agriculture and intelligent transportation. This streamlined processing unit for AI applications can deliver up to 26 TOP INt-8 performance in a cost-effective unit.

   The system chassis is made of aluminum and heavy steel with IP40 protection rating and supports wide operating temperatures from -20C to +70C, ideal for use in harsh industrial environments where temperatures can vary with operation. The Edge device features dual gigabit Ethernet ports, an M.23052 B-key slot for 5G modules and two full-size miniPCIe slots for expansion. It also has seven SMA antenna splitter holes to meet the wireless communication requirements of applications.

   The 8-core ARM processor supports 4GB LPDDR4 system memory, 16GB eMMC onboard storage as standard, and an m. 2280 m-key SSD slot for PCIe x4 NVMe and a MicroSD card slot for more storage. Additional I/O includes one built-in HDMI 2.0 port with 4K resolution, two serial ports with RS-232/422/485 support, two CANbus ports, two USB2.0 ports, and 8-channel digital I/O, (4-DI /4-DO). Embedded operating system support is provided as Yocto Linux 3.0.

   All that I/O, software, and connectivity, plus an AI-focused microprocessor that uses just 2.5W of power while achieving inT-8's 26TOPs performance, means it can handle complex deep-learning neural networks in a wide range of intelligent embedded applications.

   Thanks to its embedded computing range, the company can fully configure the RSC100 to customer specifications, with a wide selection of storage, peripheral cards, operating systems and neural networks.
