The leading semiconductor components distributor in the Asia-Pacific market, Dalianda Holdings, announced that its subsidiary Youshang has launched a 100W PD power adapter solution based on the onsemi NCP1343 chip.

Today, when the battery life is still unable to break through, fast charging technology has undoubtedly become one of the focuses of research and development and promotion by major manufacturers. In recent years, with the popularization of the USB Type-C interface, the Power Delivery (PD) protocol not only provides a unified fast charging standard for all electronic devices using the Type-C interface, including smartphones, but also accelerates the Research and development of high-power PD power adapter solutions. In order to shorten the customer's research and development cycle, Dalian Dayou has launched a 100W PD power adapter solution based on the onsemi NCP1343 chip, which can support the PD3.0/PPS protocol specification.

Since the output power of the power supply is above 75W, it is necessary to add a PFC circuit in the circuit design to achieve the industry standard under high power factor. Therefore, in addition to using Onsemi's new-generation QR Flyback controller NCP1343, this solution also uses Onsemi NCP1623 as the PFC-level control in the front-end of the circuit, which improves the design requirements. And the design of adding onsemi FUSE15101 to the output control stage satisfies the PD3.0/PPS protocol standard.

NCP1343 is a flyback chip with integrated quasi-resonant control. It integrates a 700V high-voltage startup source and has Brown-out function. It has a wide VCC supply voltage range of 9V to 28V. It is suitable for designing high-performance offline power converters. It has a proprietary valley lock circuit. , which ensures stable valley switching. The system can operate down to the sixth valley and switch to frequency foldback mode to reduce switching losses. As the load decreases, the NCP1343 can enter skip mode to manage power output while minimizing noise.

The NCP1632 integrates a dual MOSFET driver for interleaved PFC applications. Interleaving consists of two smaller stages connected in parallel in place of a larger stage that is difficult to design. And the NCP1632 driver is 180° phase-shifted, which can greatly reduce the current ripple.
