DACs for a variety of optical networking and automation applications

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2022-01-10, Analog Devices Inc.

Equipment LTC2688 SoftSpan DAC provides engineers with advanced capabilities, efficiency and programmability for a variety of automation, optical networking and telecommunications applications. Mouser is currently getting supplies from Analog Devices

The DAC provides independent programmable channels with five outputs ranging from 0V to ±15V. Providing monotonic stability, the device includes a built-in track-to-track output buffer with a source or sink of up to ±20mA. The device is a 16-channel, 16-bit DAC with integrated precision reference to improve output accuracy.

SPI and MICROWIRE compatible three-line serial interfaces operate at logic levels as low as 1.71V and clock frequencies up to 50MHz. It also provides an external reference for more range options and analog multiplexers to simplify measurements of pin voltage, load current and junction temperature.

The board is supported by the DC2873A-B evaluation board, which is a full-featured evaluation board and is also available from Mouser. When paired with the required DC2026C demo board, allows designers to use Analog Devices' ACE software configuration and control the onboard LTC2688 DAC.
