Cypress Semiconductor has announced new devices in its single-supply Traveo automotive MCU family. They provide secure, high-speed networks for human electronics applications. The new S6J342xxx series supports the controller's flexible data rate standard for high-speed in-vehicle networks, enabling each CAN node to exchange large amounts of data. The MCU meets key requirements for protecting data security on the vehicle network with enhanced security hardware extension support, preventing unauthorized connection to the electronic control unit (ECU). The new Traveo series continues the company's expansion of its broad automotive portfolio with MCUs, radios, memories, capacitive touch solutions and PMICs. This series uses its 40nm eCT flash technology to achieve higher performance and reliability. This series provides rich functions and more cost-effective implementation solutions for body control modules, HVAC systems, collision warning systems, gateways and lighting applications. These MCUs are based on the ARM Cortex-R5 core, have a powerful performance of 132MHz, and have up to 1MB of high-density embedded flash memory for application storage. The unique partial wake-up mode allows the MCU to minimize average power consumption. Cypress offers a wide range of variations in this series, making it easy for OEM customers to develop derivative solutions. "Cars are becoming more and more connected internally and externally. For automotive networks, our automotive customers are looking for faster performance with strong security to prevent ECUs from being hacked," Takeshi Fuse, senior vice president of automotive business Say. Cypress. "Our new 40nm Traveo MCUs have CAN FD and eSHE support and are optimized to enable secure, high-speed in-vehicle networks for a variety of body electronics applications. These devices increase the scalability of our Traveo platform and enhance Cypress This unique capability provides our customers with one-stop resources to develop cost-effective system solutions with advanced features.
