Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has expanded its TNPV E3 series of automotive grade high voltage thin film flat plate resistors with a smaller housing size for the 0805. The Vishay Draloric TNPV0805 E3 is claimed to be the industry's first device with the compact 0805 housing size, which combines high operating voltage up to 450V, strict tolerance of ± 0.1% and low TCR as low as ± 10ppm/K.
Typical applications of the AEC-Q200 qualified equipment include voltage measurement for automotive and industrial inverters, on-board chargers, voltage dividers for battery management systems, and test and measurement equipment. The device has small volume and high voltage, which reduces the number of devices and saves the space of single board. It reduces costs by replacing larger resistors and multiple devices of similar housing size without compromising accuracy.
The resistor has a high degree of stability and reliability under a wide range of environmental conditions, with excellent load life stability of ≤0.05% at rated power and ambient temperatures of +70C, 1000 hours, excellent moisture resistance (85C, 85% RH) and conforming sulfur resistance to ASTM B 809. The complete series is available in 0805, 1206 and 1210 housing sizes, with resistance values from 121kOhm to 3.01MOhm, operating temperatures ranging from -55C to +155C, maximum operating voltage up to 1,000V, and maximum housing sizes.
These resistors are halogen-free and ROHS compliant, and their pure matte tin plating provides compatibility with lead-free (Pb) and lead-based (Pb) welding processes. And the device is ideal for handling automatic SMD assembly systems and automatic welding.
