TDK MLJ-G series fixed inductors are compact components developed for automotive power over coaxial (PoC) implementation. This inductor offers a maximum impedance rating of 2500 ohms and provides less current variation than traditional multilayer inductors. Despite the dimensions of 1.6mm × 0.8mm × 0.8mm, these inductors achieve a high current rating of 500mA, greatly reducing impedance changes during current application.
Additionally, these components provide reliable performance at temperatures up to +125C. Many automotive camera systems using LVDS transmission use the PoC approach, where data and power are superimposed onto a single coaxial cable. By transmitting data and power, PoC reduces the number of wiring harnesses required, helping to reduce vehicle weight and achieve space savings. In a PoC circuit, separating the data from the power supply requires effective filtering, usually consisting of 2 to 4 inductors.
And the inductor used for this filtering must have high impedance from low to high frequency AC components. This series of inductors has impedance values of 1000 ohms or higher over a wide frequency range, making them highly optimized to meet these requirements.
