Bourns offers a new family of TVS diodes with a low capacitance of 3pF (picofarad), making it an ideal protection device for high-speed interfaces in today's automotive, communication lines and industrial applications. Bourns model CDSOD323-TxxC-DSLQ TVS diodes also provide the company's lowest TVS diode leakage current of 1nA. This is important because battery subsystems such as IoT sensors, entertainment and comfort devices have limited battery runtime. The advantages of using a low-leakage protection device are to help increase power efficiency and increase uptime. This series provides ± 30kV contact discharge ESD protection according to IEC 61000-4-2 and surge protection according to IEC 61000-4-5. These features are designed to increase reliability and increase the robustness of the application to protect against damage from ESD and other transient voltage events. The new TVS diodes are packaged in SOD323, and the two-way TVS provides excellent protection, especially for communication lines.
