Analog device LT3002 non-optical isolation flyback converter is a monolithic micro-separation flyback converter. By sampling the isolated output voltage directly from the primary-side flyback waveform, the device can be adjusted without a third winding or opto-isolator. Program the output voltage with two external resistors and a third arbitrary temperature compensation resistor. Boundary mode operation provides a smaller magnetic solution with excellent load regulation. Low-ripple burst mode operation maintains high efficiency at light loads while reducing output voltage ripple. The 3.6A, 65V DMOS power switch is combined with all high voltage circuits and control logic to form a thermally enhanced eight-pin SO package. The device operates over an input voltage range of 4V to 36V and produces isolated output power up to 10W. The high level of integration and the use of boundary and low ripple burst modes show ease of use, low component count, and efficient application solutions for isolated power delivery. Typical applications include isolated automotive, industrial, medical power; and isolated auxiliary / housekeeping power.
