EPC Power Conversion Corporation (EPC) introduces the ePower™ power stage integrated circuit, which integrates an entire half-bridge power stage and can achieve up to 35 A of output current at 1 MHz operation, providing higher performance and More miniaturized solutions, including applications such as DC/DC conversion, motor drives, and class-D audio amplifiers.

EPC Power Conversion Corporation (EPC) announces 100 V, 35 A integrated circuits designed for 48 V DC/DC conversion for high-density computing applications and 48 V BLDC for electric vehicles, robots and drones motor driver. The EPC23102 eGaN IC can achieve a maximum withstand voltage of 100 V, load currents up to 35 A, and switching speeds greater than 1 MHz.

Key features of the EPC23102 integrated circuit based on EPC's proprietary GaN IC technology include integrated input logic interface, level shifter, bootstrap charge and gate drive buffer circuits to control a 6.6m Ohm RDS(on) and configure are the high-side and low-side field effect transistors of the half-bridge power stage. The EPC23102 is packaged in a more thermally-resistant QFN package and measures only 3.5 mm x 5 mm, providing an ultra-miniaturized solution for the highest power density applications. When operating in a 48V/12V buck converter, the EPC23102 is more than 96% efficient at 1MHz switching frequency and has a continuous load current capability of 8 to 17 A with a current rating of 35 A.

Alex Lidow, CEO and co-founder of EPC Power Conversion, said: "The ePower product family enables designers to realize the dramatic performance improvements brought by gallium nitride technology. Integrated circuits are easier to adopt, lay out, assemble, and save space. board area and increased efficiency, allowing designers to implement lighter, more accurate BLDC motor drivers, higher efficiency 48 V input DC/DC converters, higher fidelity Class D audio systems, and other industrial and consumer application."

The EPC90147 development board features a maximum device voltage of 100 V, a maximum output current of 35 A, a half-bridge configuration, and the EPC23102 ePower power stage IC. The development board is designed to simplify the evaluation process of the EPC23102. This 2" x 2" (50.8 mm x 50.8 mm) board is designed for optimum switching performance and contains all critical components for easy evaluation.
