2MHz, Super Helicopter stabilized operational amplifier

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2023-04-03, Intersil

The ICL7650S Super Chopper Stabilized amplifier provides extremely low input bias voltage and is extremely stable in terms of time and temperature. It is a direct replacement for the industry standard ICL7650, offering improved input bias voltage, lower input bias voltage temperature coefficient, lower input bias current, and wider common-mode voltage range. All improvements are highlighted in bold in the electrical characteristics section. Key parameters are guaranteed throughout the commercial temperature range.

Pinouts

Intersil's unique CMOS chopper stabilized amplifier circuit is user transparent and virtually eliminates the intermodulation effects, chopper peaks, and out of range locking problems of traditional chopper amplifiers. The chopper amplifier achieves low bias by comparing the inverter input voltage to the non-inverter input voltage in the cavitation amplifier, which is cavitation by alternating clock phases.

Test Circuit

Two external capacitors are required to store the correction potential on the zero input of the two amplifiers; These are the only necessary external components. The clock oscillator and all other control circuits are completely independent. However, the 14-lead version includes provisions to use an external clock if a specific application requires it. In addition, the ICL7650S internally compensates for unit gain operation.
