The LTC1412 is a 12-bit, 3Msps sampling a /D converter. This high performance device includes high dynamic range sampling and hold and precision reference. Powered from ±5V, it requires only 150mW. The ±2.5V input range is optimized for low noise and distortion. Most high-performance operational amps also perform best in this range, allowing direct coupling to analog inputs and eliminating the need for special conversion circuits.

Excellent AC performance includes 72dB S/(N + D) and 82dB SFDR at 1.5MHz Nyquist input frequency. The unique differential input sampling and hold can acquire single-ended or differential input signals up to their 40MHz bandwidth. 60dB common-mode suppression allows the user to eliminate ground loop and common-mode noise by measuring signals that differ from the source.

Functional block diagram

      

The ADC has a high-speed 12-bit parallel output port. There is no pipeline delay in the transformation result. Separate conversion start inputs and converter status signals (BUSY) simplify connection to the fifo, dsp, and microprocessor. Digital output driver power pins allow direct connection to 3V logic.
